  1. The stock IBRX has 436M shares outstanding, closing price today was $6.41, but MT is showing market cap is only $588M - don't know where the error originates, but that's a darn simple calc to get wrong. Haven't check the rest of my stocks and watchlists for a similar error, just realized IBRX MC was wrong when I wrote about it on Seeking Alpha then read a later comment that gave the current correct MC.
  2. I swear to god I typed in RITM-A and -B properly yesterday and they did not show data - just did it today and they filled immediately - that's bizarre - no need to reply, but thanks for confirming the correct RITM pref stock symbols to use in MT.
  3. Trying to put two Rithm Capital Corp. Preferred Stocks on my watchlist, the A series - TDA uses symbols RITM-A but MT doesn't recognize them - I know some other symbols for those, like RITM.PRA, or RITM-PA, but none of them work. These used to be NRZ-A/NRZ-B before they changed their name, but that's not their symbols anymore - how do I add a preferred stock that TDA says the symbol is RITM-A? I'm using TDA as my data feed in MT. Ally Invest uses the symbol RITM.A, I tried that too, but since Ally no longer supplies data to MT it's not an option to switch feeds.
  4. In case anyone else finds this thread, we need to do one extra thing to stop the constant Ally account verification popup - go to Settings/Accounts, click on your Ally account, and check the "disable account" box. I'm not deleting it from MT yet just in case Ally changes their minds when clients complain and restates MT's API access.
  5. That's bullshit - I just got off the phone with a rep expressing my displeasure, not like I think it will get them to change their minds. Very odd that they picked you up after TDA no longer wanted to support Quotetracker, Ally gave investors access to MT for free, then a few years later stopped that, and now they don't want Ally investors to use MT at all - what possible advantage could that give them? Or was it that MT was using their services and they weren't making money from it? Whatever reason, it's ridiculous that a broker would make it HARDER for their clients to access their Ally accounts. I know you probably don't know the answers and never will - I'm just venting - I hate it when someone takes away options from me to access their services using the method I prefer to use. MT made it so easy to access all of my brokers and accounts from one place, now that convenience is gone. An example of what I'll really miss - when I was going to buy a stock in my Ally account I'd have MT display L2 and last time and sales while having an Ally trade ticket open so I could instantly make a trade when my desired price was hit - now I'll have to hop back and forth between MT and the browser with the Ally website open to make that trade - sometimes stocks move so fast that those extra seconds mean I will miss that price because the bid moved up while I was swapping which window I was viewing on my PC.
  6. The new verification method went live this morning and it doesn't work - don't know if the problem is with Ally or MT - I just sent this email to Ally Tech Support: Your new verification method went live today, can no longer verify my account with an emailed security code, so I supplied my cell # and got the verification code, entered it into Medved Trader, selected "Authorize Access", but it doesn't work - I tried 6 times wasting half an hour and get stuck in an endless loop. How do I let Medved Trader access my Ally account a different way? This is frustrating as heck! Can you check from your end? Here's the last two steps that lead to failure to verify:
  7. Ok, I'll test it next week and let you know since they just implemented this new policy, may not be enforcing it stringently as soon as tomorrow.
  8. Just got this email from Ally - will we have to get this stupid security code every time we trade in our Ally accounts from within MT or when MT starts and tries to open the account view? I cannot believe they're doing this (getting rid of email verification or using Captcha) - what are people without cell phones (or decent cell service) supposed to do when they're out of the house using WiFi and a laptop to access their Ally accounts? And we will apparently have to get this stupid code EVERY single time we access our account, not just to make a trade?!? I know that's not your problem Jerry, I'm just getting fed up with almost every service I use requiring text msgs to log in or verify you're you - I only have an emergency cell phone, it's in my car - and to have to do this every time I start MT (if that's what's going to happen) will be a PITA even if I'm at using my home computer next to my landline phone. I'm going to complain about this to Ally, but have zero faith I'll be able to change this new policy - it's the having to get a code to access my Ally account in MT every time I startup MT that's my biggest complaint, if that's what's going to happen. We need you to add a phone number to your security preferences As part of our continual efforts to keep your account safe and secure, we’re making changes to the security code delivery settings for your Ally account. In short, we’ll need you to update your preferences. In order to log in moving forward, you’ll only be able to receive an authenticated security code through a text message or phone call, not email. What this means for you You'll need to add a preferred phone number to your Security Code Delivery settings. Follow these quick steps: Log in to your Ally account Select Profile and Settings Select Security Code Delivery Click Add New to add a phone number as security code delivery option
  9. Ok, got things set now - only question left is why isn't there a column for $ and % gain/loss for that day for each position? There's only a $ and % gain/loss overall - in the portfolio view I probably watch a given stock's daily $ gain more than anything - in fact, that's how I sort the list, biggest daily gain by $ at the top, biggest daily loss at the bottom.
  10. Does the "Set As Default for all" choice change all the custom portfolio views too? Because of the more columns available in portfolios I don't want the limited column set of account view to apply to portfolios. I opened the account view for my IRA, added the columns I wanted, clicked on "Set as Default", then opened account view for my cash account and it was the MT default account view, not the view I set as default for the IRA - does "set as default" only apply to a given account, meaning I'd have to customize each account view as set as default for that account to save it?
  11. One of my stocks (XPER) split up into two companies last Friday, and TDA's "Gainskeeper" page shows my cost basis on their website for the two symbols, XPER and ADEA - but they don't show up on the positions page yet. I keep track of my total cost basis and "cash cost basis" in Excel, where I consider DRIP shares as "free" - to see what MT was showing for my basis in the new stock (ADEA) and the remaining shrs of XPER I opened the Account view for my IRA - it shows the same basis for XPER, but a really odd (way too low) basis for ADEA, probably TDA's fault for not updating their positions data yet, which is where I believe MT pulls the data from for the Account view. I added some extra columns to the default account view columns, but can't see a way to save that layout - when I closed that tab and reopened Account view it was back to the few default columns. So two questions: 1. Am I correct that MT pulls cost basis from TDA's positions page? 2. Is there any way to save a custom column layout in the Account tab? I usually only look at Portfolios, which is where I enter my cash cost basis, and those custom columns are saved for each portfolio tab when I close them or exit MT - why can't I do the same in Account tabs? I have known for years that there are multiple columns available in Portfolio tabs that you cannot load in the Account tab - is that related to the not saving the layout issue?
  12. Started MT this morning, no problems with the Ally data feed, didn't need to log in or authorize again - problem solved - thanks for looking into this.
  13. I spoke to an Ally rep, she said my account is enabled for real time quotes, but that's only when I'm using their website - I checked and it matched MT's TDA L2 data exactly for the stock I was looking at - but for some reason MT is not able to fetch real time data from Ally now, and this literally just occurred over the last 48 hours. But I just tried something and it worked - I went to Settings/accounts in MT, picked the Ally account, clicked on the "Verify and get accounts" button, a login screen for Ally appeared in MT, I entered my username and PW, got the screen below, clicked on Authorize, and boom, problem fixed. Seems like Ally incorporated some kind of new two step verification system or something - on Monday I'll see if I have to repeat the process every time I start MT or if this was a one time thing. Authorization page from Ally:
  14. Just started happening - and raw trade data is looking odd too - I *think* this comes only from TDA? Warning about Ally - why (or did?) they cut off MT's access to real time quotes, and is it just me, or a problem with MT? Missing raw sales data for UAN stock, and odd symbol in volume column: Logged into Ally and went to real time quotes page - this is what I found - what the heck is the "Use Real-Time Quotes : Approval processed next business day." line mean and why was it checked by default?
  15. Didn't know you could set it to only go off during regular hours - changed a few to that setting, will help but not eliminate the problem. Thnx - better than nothing!
  16. I have low price alerts set up for stocks I want to buy, and on some days the alerts popup up so frequently it drives me nuts - looking at raw time and sales, if you don't filter that popup, you can see the spoofed trades that set off the alerts falsely (first pic) - but if you filter to "only show trades" you can see there were no trades at $135 in this case (2nd pic), although that alert constantly went off. Can MT be changed to only trigger alerts when the actual real trade "last price" is hit, not when a false L2 non-trade is hit (no volume)?
  17. I figured it out - at some point I had set the 5 day view as default for intraday charts, so trying to change any chart to 10 days did nothing. MT "remembers" you had an intraday chart open for a given stock, and remembers it's size and location too - I guess that info is saved as current layout when you close MT, restarting reloads the last layout, so opening/closing a chart didn't change anything. I opened an intraday chart for a stock I've never left open when I closed MT and it loaded as a 10 day chart automatically - I went to "Templates" and made it the default intraday chart, and suddenly all of my 5 day charts expanded to 10 days. Problem solved. Only remaining confusing thing is that if I go to Main/Period, now it shows up as 65 hrs, even though it's really showing 10 days worth of data - but open a new intraday chart of one that's not saved in a layout, check that period value, and it shows 10 days - that's just some kind of quirk, doesn't really need to be fixed.
  18. Oh - awesome! I never knew that trick before - but after opening help and search for "compare" that tip is at the top of the list - don't know why I never tried searching help before. Thnx!
  19. Default backfill source was already set to TDA, but default "historical backfill" was set to Ally - changed that to TDA, didn't do anything for those 5 day charts.
  20. Max # of Days of Intraday Data: 10 Compress Tick data to OHLC beyond X Days: 5 There's no way to pick data sources for the charts as far as I can tell (in portfolio view you can click on "Main" and choose your data source) - I don't know if they're using TDA, Ally, or Yahoo. I went to the data source section in Settings and see: Ally - Intraday OHLO Backfill - Number of Days: 5 TDA - Intraday OHLO Backfill - Number of Days: 10 Yahoo - Intraday OHLO Backfill - Number of Days: 7 (won't let you go higher than 7) I did note something odd when looking at the TDA data source settings - it has a tickbox option for "Stream Tick Quotes" - Ally and Yahoo don't. I changed Ally intraday backfill number of days to 10, then reset an intraday chart for the ETF TQQQ to 10 days, and then the chart showed 10 days - tried repeating that for the other open intraday charts and after setting to 10 days, I rechecked, and they were all saying "Period 61 hrs 33 mins". I even tried closing those charts and opening new ones for the same symbols and they're still stuck at 66 hrs + xx mins. Oddly, I just randomly picked some other symbols from portfolios and they all came up showing 10 days - but closing and reopening an existing intraday chart (which are saved in "My Layout") only shows 5 days of data even after backfilling with Ally or TDA. What's baffling is that TQQQ is also part of my saved default layout and it will show 10 days of data, but no other default intraday chart will go past 5 days. Perhaps I should try closing all the intraday charts, save that layout, close MT, then recreate the 6 intraday charts I'm currently following and see if they go to 10 days? If they do, then I can export/save that layout and I should hopefully see 10 days of data every time I start MT.
  21. I have 2-3 pairs of stocks that tend to trade in tandem because one of the pair owns a significant chunk of stock in a 2nd stock I own (have two pairs of those types), or 1 stock has a high % of total sales tied to a single company, like a tech stock that gets a large % of revs from selling components to AAPL. For at least one pair in which one company owns stock in the 2nd, they can deviate when something big happens to one or the other company, like a huge new contract. For example, GLNG owns a lot of NFE stock as the result of selling $500M in assets in a mostly stock deal - NFE bought the assets near it's peak one year pps, and has almost been halved since then, which gutted the pps of GLNG. But the last week GLNG announced a new deal worth almost $400M for one of their assets and it separated from NFE. It would be great to be able to plot both stocks on a single historical chart to see these deviations and know "I should look into what this happened here" - sometimes news or PRs aren't picked up by any of MT's news sources. For instance, a stock I own signed a deal to sell itself to PFE last Dec 17, on 3/14/22 it closed (that's REALLY fast for a BO to close), and suddenly I had a pile of cash in 3 different accounts to invest but I didn't know it was there - TDA did not send an email alert about the deal closing and money showing up in my accounts, Seeking Alpha didn't pick up PFE's PR announcing the deal had closed, and none of MT's news sources picked up PFE's PR either. I know that's a different issue and out of MT's control, it can only alert us to what the news services it polls put out - and part of it is how I use MT - I only look at portfolios, don't use the account view, for one because there are much fewer column choices available in account view for some reason, and the missing ones that portfolio view does offer are ones I look at frequently. So most of what I wrote is rationale for why it would be great to be able to plot two stocks on one historical chart - is there anything in the code or API preventing this? Most stock charting services on the net allow you to compare to one of more companies in historical charts, and TDA will even let you make real time comparison charts at one minute intervals for 1, 2, 5, and 10 days - almost the same way MT's intraday charts work.
  22. I'm 99% sure intraday charts used to show the full 10 days if you had 10 days selected - for a while now they only show 5 days worth of data regardless of what you choose for time interval (1 min, 2 min, 10 min, etc.), so it's not that displaying too many data points is the problem. Anyone else having this problem? Why have view 10 days as an option if you can only see 5 days worth?
  23. Thanks - don't know how I fell so far behind - if the problem recurs on Monday I'll post here or email you.
  24. My PC is running really slow the last couple days, delays in typing, for instance - I just checked my RAM usage, it's at 91% (!?!) and MT is consuming 6.7 GB of RAM all by itself - I've never seen this before. Using a Win10 desktop with 16 GB of RAM - is there any way to limit how much RAM MT is allowed to take, or is this indicative of a problem with my installation? I also have software that's supposed to clear RAM for a given app (cmd is "Flush process memory out"), which is supposed to send the data to the swapfile, but I did that yesterday and MT went right back to using 6.7 GB after a few seconds. Which makes me think of one thing that may be causing this - I recently created several new portfolios, and including some real time charts I have about 9-10 individual MT windows (or tabs) open - could that be the problem? I leave MT running full time on Mon-Fri, could it be a memory leak of some sort? MT is also using 18%-25% of my CPU, it varies pretty rapidly between those values - I mean it changes in less than a second if I sit there and watch.
  25. This is bizarre - I know I had Ally picked as data source because I tried all of them, and shrs out for all 5 ETFs was blank, but when I just switched a second ago I now see what you see - only ARKQ and YYY missing data. Thanks for contacting Ally.
