alextrader777
Yes, restoring multiple windows would be great. Also, please add, "Select all", and "Restore all". Thanks

alextrader777
Can you please add a hot key that will quickly toggle between showing extended hours and not showing it?
ehjump
How to bring ALL minimized Chart windows up with one click? Not one by one like I can do it from the Dashboard. Not sure if same in Vista, but in Windows 8.1, you can also bring up all charts by right-clicking on the MT icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar and click "Restore all Windows"
Jerry Medved
ehjump - that is an MT menu and only shows if you "Minimize All" first. It restores back to the way it was before Minimize All, which means it leaves previously minimized items minimized.

alextrader777
Jerry, can you take a look at daily chart of "LOOK" ticker symbol? No matter what backfill source I use, yahoo, google, IB, the Daily chart still gives me the wrong charting of the last 2 days. If I go to yahoo website it gives me the correct daily charting. Also compare few days intraday vs Daily for "LOOK" Thanks.
Jerry Medved
did you try manually backfilling, not just switching source - click the backfill button on the chart. pretty sure we have an issue with auto backfill that I will be looking at
alextrader777
yes, I clear the data and manually backfill from every source possible . Lol So I think the issue is not only with a backfill, but something else might be wrong. and in general in pre-market, daily charts usually look weird with the current pre-market day
Jerry Medved
Fixed issue with Yahoo. Select FILE / HELP / Check Updates. Let it update all files. Restart MT (even if nothing updated) After restart, on the dashboard, click the button to clear all HIST Data. Once done, everything should work
alextrader777
done the whole procedure, but "LOOK" has the same wrong daily chart, for example.
Jerry Medved
Ok, Please email me a copy of the chart, along with your settings and log file go to FILE / Export Settings. Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please.
alextrader777
Daily charts are all wrong, SPY for example, compared to 60min intraday and compared to Yahoo website. No matter what backfill I use they all give wrong daily candles.
Jerry Medved
1) what exactly is wrong? Just saying "wrong" means nothing. Are you referring to last candle? something else? 2) when you say no matter what backfill - are you clearing the data before backfilling with a new source?
alextrader777
Sorry, it seems that only Yahoo has a bad fill for all the candles on daily SPY. That's your experience also? Should i use Google backfill instead? IB has historical data only for the last 5 years. But Google goes back to 1993.
Jerry Medved
Yahoo is known for screwing up the data. Don't see any reason not to use Google.
alextrader777
But the last candle on the daily SPY has the High of 209.83 with both Google and IB feed. But on the intraday with IB feed, SPY has High of 208.81 today. Where is the problem Jerry?
Jerry Medved
Last candle (current day) is a different story. If you have MT set to show real-time updates on historical charts (which is on by default), then the last candle is built from the intraday data - OPEN, HIGH, LOW and LAST. That overrides whatever is returned for the current day from the historical data source. So look at what those fields have in your portfolio for SPY. alextrader777
1. I have also MT set to show real-time updates on historical charts. But it doesn't really matters, if the last daily candle is built from the intraday data then the intraday candles and historical candles should be showing the same values, which is not the case for the yesterday candles. I'll quote my notes from yesterday: But the last candle on the daily SPY has the High of 209.83 with both Google and IB feed. But on the intraday with IB feed, SPY has High of 208.81 today. 2. Yesterday candle is no longer being overrode by the intraday data, but still shows wrong values for the High of the Day. It is probably carries some data from the premarket. Jerry Medved
if you clear data and backfill, does it show correctly?
alextrader777
If I clear data and backfill, then Google shows the same 209.83 for yesterday, but IB shows 208.81 for both daily and intraday. For today's candles however IB shows High 207.39 for Daily and 207.26 Intraday.
Jerry Medved
Historical - IB - previous day - when I backfill, I get 207.82. Are you sure you cleared the data and backfilling with IB? Historical - IB - current day - I get 207.39 as well IF I Uncheck the RTH option for stocks Hist backfill. With RTH, the backfill returns 207.32. Intraday - I get 207.32 with IB backfill. It happened right at the open, so if your data is RT, not backfilled, it may be slight time difference and shown before market open. Set your chart to show extended hours - do you see it then? or if you clear current day data and backfill?
alextrader777
Jerry, interesting, this morning at the pre-market IBB shows 373.49 on all the time frames except 60min. where it shows 368.97. And even at the same intraday window if I toggle between the time frames the 60min still shows 368.97 I'll answer all the other questions later.
Jerry Medved
Can you please be specific. What shows 368.97? I cannot see your chart so I have no idea what you are referring to. Candle high? Candle last? Chart High? etc?
