  1. Perhaps this is a support issue and I am merely overlooking a solution already included in MT, but I would like to have every trading day appear on my charts, even days when there is no volume. A simple dash at the last price level would be fine, preferably a different color than days with trading volume. On low volume stocks that I watch the charts appear scrunched up with fat candles. This throws things off a little bit for chart pattern recognition.
  2. Thanks once again, especially for your patience in answering all the questions.
  3. Hi Jerry, How do you drag and drop to copy a row? I am probably overlooking something simple, but I have tried numerous times and various methods. All I ever get is a move.
  4. Once the data sources for 3 month average volume are in place, it would be nice to have a column that flagged volume spikes, as 2.5X average daily volume or more.
  5. I should have specified that I mean copying the entire highlighted row, with symbol and note. I can manually type the symbol, then copy and paste the note. It would save a step and time to be able to highlight a row, copy, then paste.
  6. I would like the ability to copy and paste from one watchlist to another, as from a sector watchlist to a general "hotlist." The ability to do so with mouse clicks would be preferable.
  7. I figured it out. When I gave the portfolios the same pin color, then I could easily transfer stocks back and forth. I did observe, however, that the windows had to be overlapping slightly or at least touching. If I dragged the stock across the open desktop, even a half inch gap, the transfer failed. Is this an intentional design or something that should be addressed? Or perhaps I am overlooking something that would prevent this from happening?
  8. In QT we could drag and drop stocks from one watchlist/portfolio to another. Is this a feature that will be incorporated into MT at some point? This would be a huge benefit to me.
  9. Is there a way to alphabetize a watchlist or portfolio when in the portfolio editor? This was a useful tool in QT.
  10. Thanks. Yahoo seems to do fine on the L1 data for my watchlists, even for the Pink Sheets. Auto calculation on the chart would be redundant for me if the watchlist data is present and correct. But I can see how that might be a cool tool for some traders.
  11. Jerry, I notice that there is a column for average volume, which is one of my favorite tools, but I am getting no data from TDA or Yahoo or Google in this column. Is this an issue with my data feed or is this a feature that is not functional yet? I frequently look to 3 month average daily volume in making trading decisions. Wyldegoos
  12. I switched my backfill and historical backfill to Google as you suggested and now all my bad charts are up and running. Thanks. I was referring to daily charts, i.e. each candle is one day.
  13. Jerry, Would it be possible to add eoddata (see eoddata.com) as a data supplier? They offer very reasonable rates for eod data ($19.95 for US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong). They offer free eod data for the American exchanges (including the OTC) if you are willing to wait until 9:00 p.m. to download. They claim their data is cleaned. Wyldegoos
  14. Thanks. Will look into another data option.
  15. Jerry, As I was working on my gold stocks watchlist, using data from TDA, I noticed that of the first thirty-some stocks I added, I had six with bad charts. Five were pink sheets and one was AMEX. When I went to the TDA website they had good charts there. I assume this is most likely a matter of corrupted data received from TDA. If it is, perhaps I will have to get a hold of my favorite low-priced aftermarket data provider and see if they are willing to work with MT. Wyldegoos
  16. Thanks Jerry. Works awesome. Figured out how to scroll through the charts too.

    Daily Charts

Jerry, Am I simply overlooking something or is MT set up at the present time only for daytraders? I looked around and did not find a way to bring up daily charts and weekly charts. I focus primarily on swing trading and short term position trading and like to look at daily charts with six months to two years of data and weekly charts for comparison. QT was the best program out there, in my estimation, for scrolling through the daily charts of the stocks in my watchlists. When I do day trade, I use daily charts in the evening to look for stocks I think are likely to move the next day. Also, in QT when I scrolled through a watchlist the chart window automatically changed to the highlighted stock in the watchlist. Is there a way to do this in MT? Wyldegoos
  18. Jerry, Forgot to tell you that I have been licking my chops for so long that the local store is out of chapstick. Wyldegoos
  19. Hi Jerry, I would like a beta version too. I want to focus primarily on eod data from free sources like Yahoo and see if there are any issues with OTC stocks, venture exchange stocks from Canadian, and other less traveled paths. Wyldegoos
  20. Great idea. Thanks Jerry for taking it up.
  21. I like the idea of a container window. That would be a tremendous tool for my investment strategy. I hope this actually does get implemented some time down the road.
  22. No problem. Looking forward to seeing the full-scale beta of Medved Trader. I have been using QT for many years. There is nothing like it out there.
  23. What version do you have? I am running 3.9.8a.
