mlsignups
I have a hotkey/saved order that i try to execute after hrs to interactive brokers. it works fine during regular hours but after hrs I get the following message: IB SERVER RESPONSE: oRDER mESSAGE: Buy xxx TSLA... NASDAQ.NMS Warning: your order will not be placed at the exchange until xxx I assume I maybe have to change a parameter to let it work after hours? mlsignups
Currently TIF = default. Does that need to be day_ext or one of the other options?
Jerry Medved
the error is sent by IB if you send a DAY (or I think GTC) order after regular hours. DEFAULT tif means that the hotkey will take the TIF value from whatever screen you are executing it on. So if on a chart, it will take it from whatever TIF is selected on top, on the toolbar, TRADING tab. you would either have to manually change that to DAY_ext, or you can set your hotkey to explicitly specify day_ext as the TIF value
mlsignups
thanks by the way; really liking the hotkeys/saved orders. I've got about 6 buttons that each execute a different trade based on rules that calculate the # of shares based on targeted stop losses and it's so much easier to just stay in the system and execute the trades with the buttons then jumping to the broker. Kasper
Jerry, if you can allow edit expression for TIF in hotkey, this can be easily managed through conditional. This way, use same hotkey for both pre/post market as well as regular trading hours.
Mike Medved
I will make the TIF field freestyle so you can put formulas in there.
