  1. when you export the log, the location of the export is shown right in the center of the export screen. Usually in MyDocuments / Medved Trader
  2. let me explain how it works. There are two components. 1) the Option Chain - list of option symbols for a given root symbol. 2) Option quotes The chain and quotes do not have to come from the same source. In fact, some sources support just one or the other but not both. When MT retrieves the CHAIN, it caches it for a day. So if you bring up the chain on the same symbol again, it should not have to retrieve the chain again and just gets the quotes, making it much faster. I am thinking that maybe, for some reason, the option symbols in the chain retrieved the first time were bad, so the quotes could not be retrieved. after reboot, you got the chain again and it worked The other thing that could have happened is if the datafeed for quotes was somehow messed up and the restart fixed it. best to send us the log file and we can look at it and see if we can do anything about that. go to FILE / Export/Backup menu (from Dashboard or Portfolio) Select “To share with others” export file protection option on top right Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please. NOTE: if emailing that, please give details = what the problem is, what exact symbols you were dealing with and approximately what time that happened so we know where to look in the log
  3. when you say options did not work, are you referring to individual option symbols in the portfolio? Option chains?
  4. Mark, I moved this question to separate thread. if you are referring to the columns on the quote grid, just drag the column headers where you want. Works same way as in Outlook, File Explorer and others.
  5. TD Ameritrade changed the QuoteTracker shutdown date to September 15. Just FYI.
  6. SETTINGS / CHARTS / DISPLAY - in the center in the Dimensions/Sizes section, change the first one "Scrollbar Height" to 3
  7. y, that is what they are charging for it. We can implement it I am sure, if there is demand
  8. are you willing to pay $247/month minimum for them?
  9. you are talking about two completely separate settings. PINing the shortcut to the taskbar is just a glorified shortcut. Some people do not want the taskbar icons there when minimizing the entire program. Thus the option to minimize to tray. There are actually a number of programs that do that. As for the default, ok i can change that.
  10. no, that is trace linking. You may have hidden it. if you click the down arrow to the right of that trace link group, is symbol Link Group checked? if not, check it.
  11. I need to get the log file to see what the problem is. Please do the following: go to FILE / Export/Backup menu (from Dashboard or Portfolio) Select “To share with others” export file protection option on top right Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please. (to support@medvedtrader.com ) and could you indicate what you were doing in MT at the time?
  12. no way to limit top 10 only at this time. What broker account are you using? Hmm, don't think MT will show the short against the box as you indicated. Can you please email us (support@medvedtrader.com ) and I will see what we can do.
  13. If you have setting on SETTINGS / APPLICATION / GENERAL set to "Minimize to Taskbar Notification Area, then when you do a Minimize All, MT just leaves the icon in the notification area and all the taskbar icons are hidden. If you also PINNED the MT app to the taskbar, that pin will remain. That works as intended. If you don't want it to hide entirely, just uncheck the checkbox in settings
  14. Gridlines and watermark are global settings. Go to SETTINGS / CHARTS / DISPLAY. At the top you can uncheck the option to show watermark and grid lines. only way to change the symbol of a chart from within the chart is to just type the new symbol on it. What you may be looking for is Symbol Linking Click on the colored pin on the portfolio to specify the Symbol Link color Click on the colored pin on the chart to specify the SAME Symbol Link color now when you click on the symbol in the portfolio, the chart changes. Or you can use the up/down arrows on the keyboard to move the selected symbol on the portfolio. When you minimize the chart assuming you don't have it set to show on the taskbar, it may get hidden (depends on the Windows version). However, double click on the same symbol in the portfolio should bring it up and MT does do a quick blinking thingie over the window . You can see that locator thingie by just double clicking on the same symbol a few times and watching the corresponding chart.
  15. Look in the new Beta version... SETTINGS / APP / GENERAL
  16. do not have email alerts yet. Emailing will be part of the Sharing sub-system that we will be adding (along with FB, Twitter, etc)
  17. Not at this time. I was planning to rework the column stuff on those 2 screens, but not likely to be soon due to the workload.
  18. y, that previous fix actually introduced another bug. we reverted that and fixed it again today (after the beta). I just emailed you.
  19. Yesterday there was an issue with TDA. not aware of any today. Force Relogin on the Dashboard/sources would usually do it. If not, email support@medvedtrader.com
  20. Move the mouse over the Y axis. MT will highlight the Y axis. Click and drag down.
  21. The MT Trailing stop alert works basically the same way as it did in QT. Just select Trailing stop alert. Lets say you bought AAPL at 106 just now. You want to do a trailing stop alert, trailing by 2 points. You would select Alert when the price reaches [BELOW] a recent high by [ 2 ] [POINTS] MT will track it (this alert tracks data across sessions, so it will continue even if you restart MT). Initial trail price will be 106. If AAPL goes up to 107 (setting a recent high), then starts dropping, it will then trigger the alert when it hits 105 (which is 2 points below the recent high) As for specific price - just set a PRICE CROSSING UP/DOWN alert at a specific point. If the price crosses that point, on the way Up, or Down or either (depending on your setting) it will trigger the alert.
  22. 1) the beta version has a big red EXIT tile on the dashboard window, as well as on the dashboard dropdown on all windows 2) you can add the exit button to any portfolio window or dashboard window caption. Select FILE menu and RIGHT-Click on the red Exit button and select "Add to Quick Access Toolbar"
  23. QuoteTracker got that data from a completely different source, regardless of which quote source was selected. We do not have access to that source
  24. not all sources return data for all fields. TD Ameritrade does not return for those. As for TradeKing, the regular TK datafed does (both fields). The MB Trading one does not, and that is the one you are using. In general I like the MB one better but there are some fields that are not returned by it. I did send out an inquiry to see if maybe we can get that. Also, I just emailed you about your account...
