ydfah Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 Is a news filter in the works by any chance? I'd love a way to block the articles regarding those bloodsucking law firms that announce class action suits multiple times a day. Quote
1 stock777 Posted November 25, 2019 Report Posted November 25, 2019 There is a LOT of noise in the news stream. A keyword filter for exclusion AND a highlight method to flag items of interest would be HUGE Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 not right now, but we will be doing that Quote

Out of the 42 news lines shown, 35 are garbage law firm announcements and only 7 are actual news. Multiply this window by many other stock tickers and it quickly gets annoying to have to weed through them all. Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 maybe it says something about the type of stocks you are playing as for what we say, best I can do. sorry. Quote

Well I'd like to play the popular fast moving ones, but MT just can't seem to keep up with those. ↘️ 🤪 Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 25, 2019 Report Posted November 25, 2019 Yea, right. we tested and regularly run with SPY, @ES, AAPL, etc. no problem keeping up Quote
0 stock777 Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 ps, I know there's a keyword alert already . I use it Is there any way to have multiple phrases is the same alert. ie comma separated . I dont think that works now, so a separate alert for every keyword is needed. Correct me if Im wrong. Quote

0 stock777 Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 I dont think this ever happened. Could really use a filter in the main news feed for excluding garbage. Same method as the ALERTS box would prob work well . Those clowns at Benzinga are polluting the feed with endless "Understanding XYZ Unusual Options Activity" headlines. Quote
0 Mike Medved Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 You can use "and" and "or"... So yes you can have several criteria in there. Quote
0 stock777 Posted August 13, 2021 Report Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) sorry, I don't see any filtering option on the ALL NEWS feed, which is what I was referring to Edited August 13, 2021 by stock777 Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted August 18, 2021 Report Posted August 18, 2021 you cannot dynamically filter at this time. I think Mike meant that you use the expressions in alerts on news. not in the news window itself Quote
0 Mike Medved Posted August 19, 2021 Report Posted August 19, 2021 I will have it put on the todo list Quote

0 Adventures In .NET Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 I'm also interested in this, but I'd like to filter by news date (i.e. newer than xx/xx/xxxx, today), and if possible by market size (i.e. float < 50m), and by price range. Others would be nice - market (NYSE, NASDAQ, etc.) Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted September 16, 2021 Report Posted September 16, 2021 right now the news window is not setup for filtering (would have to change the way we handle the display of the data). However, once we do add the filtering, it will not have access to the filters that you asked for. For that you would want to filter in a portfolio by modifying scans etc and then just looking at the news for the result symbols. Or, you can do it using our API. Quote

0 ydfah Posted December 18, 2023 Author Report Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) I guess I was using it wrong. It uses AND OR NOT operators, I was trying to use +/- operators. I wanted to filter out lawyers and lawsuit articles, so here's what I wrote, and it works: not "shareholder alert" and not "deadline alert" and not rosen and not glancy and not kirby 👍 For some reason, I don't have the "symbols" row like you do, only "headline" and "source."
