Well, still waiting for MT to include Schwab. Some of my AMTD accounts that do use MT are being migrated now. If this keeps happening, MT will become largely useless for my trading / investing as Vanguard, WeBull (on Win 7) and MooMoo are not supported either.  And Yes, I did ask for a transition date change, but was told it was set.  I said I'd be closing (ACATing) that acoount and will close others if there is no flexibility.  At least the largest accounts are not set to move until next year.

Jerry, perhaps if you told them they may be losing customers, they might get the  API to you with a bit more dispatch.  It's been months now and ........ 0.

Patrick, as far as Win 7, you REALLY should update.  As for TD Ameritrade/Schwab, they know the urgency.  they are working on it.

I'm scheduled to have the last of my TD accounts transitioned November 3rd. Called TD and they said it is too late to change. Gave me the "transition specialist" number for Schwab (800-780-8614) and they are trying to delay the transfer of all my remaining TD accounts to be included in the next "group" (presumably March 2024). Will get answer on if this is possible tomorrow. If this falls through I'm thinking I'll open a small cash account with Fidelity and hope it gets completed before Nov 3rd. Would this be a working alternative Jerry?

Please keep us up to date on this as I the exact same boat as you, I’ve been hoping for an email from them telling me I am getting moved to March but nothing yet.

It is only about the data feed. Both of those options will incur monthly fees until Schwab decides to provide you the API. I see Fidelity as a way to avoid those fees. Am I incorrect that the Fidelity feed will provide the same data as the TD feed?

Fidelity has Level I data, but leaves something to be desired. 1 second update for Level I. No Level II.

Good news! Just now logged-in to TDA and confirmed that my account is no longer scheduled for Nov 3 migration.

Login for me also confirms the scheduled migration timeline for 11/3 is gone.  No news about when it will happen nor any contact/emails.  Would imagine that will happen later.

Jerry, so what exactly is the hold up with the API from Schwab? Is it that they don't have something in place, software-wise or hardware-wise, or are they dragging their feet because they want everyone to use their Street Smart platform instead of 3rd party one, such as MT?

Good question ydfah, I would only add: Has Schwab given a firm commitment to eventually make available their API; and, if yes, will it be available to all Schwab accounts OR only grandfathered former TDA accounts?

I ended up calling the Schwab transition number (listed above) and they were in the know about all of this. They put in for an extension and will call me back in a couple of days to advise if it is approved.  I’ll post the outcome.

Did you get a call back yet? I called TDA on Monday the 16th and 5 days later haven't heard a peep from them.

Last week three TDA Reps submitted delay requests to Transition Team on my behalf. None ever called back. Instead approval of delayed migration was finally acknowledged on Fri 10/20 by the removal of Nov 3 countdown notice from my account homepage. If your account continues to display such notice, then you probably need to contact TDA again ASAP.

They never did call me back.  Id login to your account and you should see the transition date timeline gone.  If not, I’d definitely call back. I got the impression from talking to the transition team member that setting up the delay is kind of routine.

To you and jca, who also gave me the same answer - I have three TDA accounts, initially was working just on getting my IRA transfer delayed. I saw your responses today and logged into all 3 accounts one by one, didn't see anything about "you're being moved to Schwab" on the main page - do you think TDA really do me the courtesy of delaying the transfer of all 3 accounts w/o me specifically asking them to delay the other two? Surely I'm not the only one trying to delay multiple TDA accounts - has anyone else asked to delay one and have TDA automatically delay all accounts you have?

if you don't have the notices, than your accounts are being moved in March, not November. TD Ameritrade was going to be switching many of the accounts that they identified as API users themselves. Calling was basically to make sure your account was not missed. I don't know what criteria was used by them to identify API accounts :).

Thnx Jerry - and thnx to everyone for helping out with this confusing issue. Been checking out Fido's website now that I have an account and I'm not impressed - looking for short term CDs on TDA is a piece of cake, takes all of two mouse clicks - not so easy with Fido, have to enter a lot of criteria to see a list, and there is no way I've found to separate the search into 3, 6, 9 mo CDs unless you create 3 different searches and save them - it takes over a minute to create one search and save it, and I don't think it will update automatically since you have to enter start and end maturity dates, meaning in 6 months the 3 and 6 mo CD searches will return null results - what a PITA compared to TDA. Don't know what Schwab's CD search looks like, they won't let you see anything unless you have an account.
