  1. the settings/ application /popup location is unrelated. That is for alerts and other notifications The text entry box is not actually shown on the bottom right. It is shown at the cursor. I will see about tweaking that. Meanwhile though, you are drawing the box for the text from top left dragging down to bottom right. If you reverse that, the popup entry box will will show up over the text box you just drew
  2. oops, sorry, missed it. will look now
  3. even if we had those as separate, the line color is still not tied to that at all. that is at the chart level per drawing type and there is just one drawing type for alerts.
  4. No. there is one default for the alert line - can't do multiple.
  5. as far as defaults, the Trendline alert can have different highlight color and sound defined for UP vs DOWN
  6. well, no. it uses the default for trendline alert, but there is one default now - not separate for above, below or both. Would have to think about how to handle that.
  7. In QT, there was only "above" or "below" options. In MT the alert is set to trigger when the price goes in either direction,
  8. IB on dashboard - on the main dashboard screen you can switch to SOURCES (tab on top right) to see various connections MT has and their status. The same dashboard has a FILE menu on top left. Click on it and select EXPORT option and follow the above instructions
  9. what shows on the dashboard for IB? Faulted? Restart TWS If that does not fix the connection, I need to get the log file to see what the problem is. Please do the following: go to FILE / Export/Backup menu (from Dashboard or Portfolio) Select “To share with others” export file protection option on top right Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please.
  10. was it working previously? on dashboard, click SOURCES. What shows there for IB? TWS running? API enabled? Correct PORT (matching what is in MT)?
  11. the 1*.. is for being able to collapse/expand sections on the chain. Options on $SPX and $RUT should work with IB. I checked and $SPX works. $RUT not quote. First, the symbol would be $RUT:RUSSELL (MT doesnt default the port for that one. I will need to change that). And when I tried to get the chain, it came back with nothing (after a looonnnng time - IB's Option chains are slow). Will look MT does not currently support multi-leg orders.
  12. Level II asking - yes. I am sure if they hear from a lot of their clients about need for Level II via API (and thus Medved Trader) that project will get higher priority than if nobody asks for it. They have an API (Application Programming Interface) for 3rd party software such as MT to use to connect to them. That API does not currently support Level II. Why? I doubt its cost of the datafeed itself, since they already have it. More likely just the needed man-hours to add support for it in the API, test it, etc.
  13. MT collects the Level I quotes it gets during the day and builds the charts from them. However, to show you a continuous chart includng periods when MT was not getting the quotes, MT needs to "Backfill" the data. Intraday backfill - is the retrieval of the historical intraday data for the intraday charts, Historical backfill - refers to the retrieval of the historical End Of Day (Daily) data for the Historical charts, It is not that Questrade doesn't allow it. Its just that their datafeed does not currently support Level II. We hope to have them add that in the future. Along with increasing max # of concurrent streaming symbols beyond 50, making some changes to backfill which would allow us to get it much faster, and some other issues. I am sure they, like everyone else, have limited resources to devote to various projects. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, so start squeaking
  14. We do not have any special deals with interactive brokers, so you would need to get a regular subscription on our website
  15. the backup in QT was to a zip file. MT does similar thing. By default to Documents / Medved Trader / Backup though you can go to SETTINGS / APPLICATION / Backup and change that. You do need to manually import though. That is same as QT.
  16. As far as the ribbon, that is done intentionally. You can however turn that off. SETTINGS / APPLICATION / General - Uncheck the box toward the end for "Ribbon Show/Hide Resizes window" We don't currently have an index panel. We will be adding it. However, do have something similar to the QT Index panel for the time being. You can do a portfolio with TILE view. Refer to: http://forums.medvedtrader.com/topic/1133-just-released-new-tile-views/#comment-6304 And http://forums.medvedtrader.com/topic/1466-index-panel/?do=findComment&comment=7918 The symbols you can enter into that Index Portfolio are (assuming TD Ameritrade source) $DJI for DJ 30 Industrials $SPX.X for S&P 500 Index $COMPX for NASDAQ Composite $VIX.X for CBOE Volatility Index $DJT for DJ 20 Transportation $DJU for DJ 15 Utilities $TNX.X for 10-YR Note $TYX.X for 30-YR Bond $FVX.X for 5-YR Note $IRX.X for 13-Week Bill
  17. QT did not have anything automatic. Not sure what you are referring to.
  18. Adjust scale for previous close would only adjust to get the line showing, not the entire previous day. Is it by chance including the previous close for the previous day? Do you have the line set to show for current day only? What time period is the chart set to show?
  19. MT will increase the space on Y axis to fit the price but it will not decrease it if the price changes back to 2 digits - at least not right away. Otherwise you would have constant adjusting which is extremely distracting.
  20. it shows the actual price returned. It is not adjusted by the pricing formats in the settings. It has to match the actual price.
  21. if you don't want the watermarks, why don't you just turn them off? You have extra space allocated on X axis. To remove, move your mouse over the X axis, right side. MT should highlight the X axis. When it does, click and drag to the left. That should remove the extra space. the dropdown list for chart templates just shows you the history of the last ones used. If you have duplicate names for the templates in the list, then you must have templates with the same name but stored in different locations. There is no way to directly modify the list (can't change history, right? ). However, if the underlying file is no longer there and you select the entry, MT will prompt you and will remove the entry from the list. Other than that, you can change the chart to the 10 templates you wish to use, Those will get added to the list, pushing the others off.
  22. from the looks of it, the cookie is set for 7 days.
  23. FILE / EXPORT on one, FILE / IMPORT on the other
