  1. drawing horizontal trendlines is actually very easy - hold down the SHIFT key while drawing. Will look into it though.
  2. ok, recreated the situation and fixed. Do the update steps again please. Then go to settings and change the backfill days for Yahoo to 20 (it will show 10). then try again
  3. checked here and everything seems OK. On the portfolio, note that drag/drop within the portfolio (within the same section also if you have sections defined) is turned off if the portfolio is sorted. Portfolio editor however should always work. What exactly happens when you try? Please do the following: go to FILE / Export Settings. Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please.
  4. Will look to see if it is doable.
  5. got your files. Fixed the problem and emailed you. Thanks for the heads up about the issue.
  6. Could you email me a template and a layout that does not load please
  7. Make sure the API settings are enabled in TWS
  8. well, yes, click on the oldest row, hold down CTRL+SHIFT, and hit HOME. That highlights all the rows you want., then just right click on them and copy, or hit CTRL+C. Anything beyond that will either involve a macro in Excel or a plugin and will have to wait till we have an API.
  9. you know you can just copy paste direct from raw data into excel? The copy is in tab separated format so it can easily be pasted.
  10. I can't say I am crazy about the idea of doing it in MT. There are enough problems with the embedded browser causing lockups. Don't want to expand the functionality. Once we add an API, anyone would be able to add stuff that interacts with MT. One of the "Events" that would be available via the API is when an linked symbol changed.
  11. there was once again an issue with the Yahoo configuration. I made further adjustment. Please do FILE / HELP / Check For Updates, then restart MT even if no updates were listed. Then try again. If you still have a problem, clear the data, then backfill and let me know the result
  12. that was not a typo - the setting on data sources controls # of days MT will request for backfill. Setting on Charts / General will control total # of days MT will show and store.
  13. it was just a minor update to the previous one.
  14. if you click on the Backfill Button (vs just counting on it to be automatically backfilled), does it fill in? If not, check the Max of days on intraday charts on SETTINGS / CHARTS / GENERAL ...
  15. Careful what you ask for ☺
  16. if MT detects an interruption or lack of heartbeat messages, etc, it reconnects, and if that fails, it does do the notification. But if the connection is OK but the datafeed is not sending updates, it does not look like a problem to MT. Same as if you were watching really slow trading symbols.
  17. ok, you have everything updated. Now for the selection - Setting screen is used for configuring accounts. It is NOT used for selecting. The only significance of which site is selected on that screen is which site is being configured at the moment. There is a tile on the dashboard that shows you the current default backfill source. clicking on it lets you change that.
  18. what happens is you found a hole in the spike filtering routine :). If you open a chart on $TICKQ, SpikeFiltering is started for that symbol. If you have $TICKQ only as a compare to symbol on the chart, then it is not started. with $TICKQ, spike filter would filter out legit values. When you opened a separate chart for $TICKQ, that started the spike filter which stopped the updates on both charts We have an Exclusion list for spike filtering, but there was a bug with that. I will have it fixed in next update. After that, you will want to add both $TICKQ and $TRINQ to the Spike Filtering exclusion list in settings.
  19. negatives - thats them (I checked). However, MT was also filtering it. I added it to default list of exclusions, but there was a bug with that. Fixed that too. Will have it in the next update
  20. ok, fixed the Yahoo configuration. Please select FILE / HELP / Check for Updates in MT (Dashboard or Portfolio window) After that, go to SETTINGS / DATA SOURCES / Configure Accounts, select Yahoo and change the max # of days for backfill to whatever you need. Default is 10. Max is currently 19
  21. MT can show up to 120 days of data on intraday charts (default is 60). However, it does need to have the actual data to show. If you bring up a chart for a symbol that MT doesn't have data for, it will "Backfill". Yahoo free backfill is supposed to get multiple days of data, but right now I just checked and there seems to be a problem. We will check. Meanwhile, you can switch to Google for the backfill and that will get you 5+ days. If the backfill sources that only return limited # of days is all you have, MT does store the data on the symbols so as more days go by, you will have more data. Do you have a brokerage account with any of the supported brokers?
  22. the "Bring all windows to front when one window is clicked" should be left checked. That is basically MT's internal windows management if you are in some other non-MT app and there are windows covering the various MT windows, then when you click on one MT window, it brings all of them to the front of the non-MT windows. That is the default functionality for regular Windows apps, but because MT does some stuff differently for performance reasons, we had to do our own Windows management. Unchecking that box would turn off that, but would result in degraded user experience for most people.
