  1. Medved Trader has all the indicators that were in QT, and then some
  2. well, its the same tech support (at least until we left Ameritrade ) MT is very comparable, though far more functionality. Any specific features you are looking for?
  3. we are changing that whole thing in subsequent releases, so it won't be an issue.
  4. that would most likely be permissions/subscriptions on your IB account. Are you getting quotes on the portfolio for the symbol? send me the log file and I can tell you the exact error that that TWS is returning. You can use that to contact IB support or to subscribe to the right thing on your account: go to FILE / Export/Backup menu (from Dashboard or Portfolio) Select “To share with others” export file protection option on top right Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please.
  5. Ameritrade datafeed will not work - it does not support futures (TOS uses a different data feed) for IB, the symbol would be: @DXZ16:NYBOT
  6. move the mouse cursor over the X axis. MT will highlight the axis. Now click and drag to the right to add space. Here is a video showing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5haYyNwk2Y
  7. Open a chart. Click on the symbol link button on top left to make it linked. Do the same on the portfolio where the symbols are - make sure they are linked with the same color pin. Now when you click on a symbol in the portfolio (or use up/down keyboard arrows) the chart will change to match the symbol.
  8. we try to set the focus but if Windows is not allowing it, I can't do anything else to force focus to the window.
  9. Crosshair (Trace) will be shown if you hold down the SHIFT or CTRL+SHIFT keys. If you want it always on, go to FILE / SETTINGS / CHARTS / GENERAL - and check the "Always Trace"
  10. we just show whatever is returned. MT has no idea about the content of the name/description with the exception of option symbols.
  11. ok, that isn't really Market Profile, that is just Volume by Price with key points specified. Can do that I guess, but right now a bit pressed for time
  12. the Market Profile has a patent on it that we do not want to have to deal with
  13. are you getting quotes on the symbols that the alerts are on? Are they in the portfolio?
  14. If the button says START, clicking on it starts the quotes. If the button says STOP, clicking on it stops the quotes Red indicator means there is a problem. You can see a bit more detail on the Dashboard, if you click on SOURCES on top right. What datafeed are you using?
  15. we don't explicitly add the fees. That is broker specific.
  16. will be in next release. Emailed you
  17. that message is from MT.. Usually startup slowness is due to security software scanning, but I did not see that in the logs for your account. But if there is an issue reading the list if files, that would also show in the log so if you get it again, send the logs and I will check
  18. got bogged down by a bunch of other stuff. sorry

Yes, I am told it is still being worked on
  20. in your example, the QT alert alerted you any time the price is below the set price. In MT, the crossing alert only alerts you if MT sees the price cross. However, in your example, assuming MT had a quote on the stock at $25, when you open MT when the price is at $21 it should still alert you since it would see the price cross (from the old quote of $25 to $21). If you then shut down MT and open it again there will no longer be an alert however. We do have the simple price alert on the todo list.
  21. as far as wait cursor, could mean there is some problem. i cannot tell you what it is without seeing a log. email it to support with a reference to this post. As for digital signature - MT is signed with the highest level security certificate available for Windows Code signing. What OS are you using?
  22. First about the various Buy/Sell buttons - some brokers require the distinction between Buy to Open and Buy to Close for options. I forgot to reconfigure Questrade to not require that. Just made it have only BUY/SELL buttons for both stocks and options (removed COVER and SHORT for stocks as they are not needed either). Buy to Open and Buy to Close in your version have exactly the same functionality as far as Questrade is concerned. As for how to place orders, options really work same as stocks. you can right click and select TRADE on the option chain window, or if you have the option in your portfolio, you can do it there, or you can enter the option right on a trade ticket window. If you have a chart open for an option, you can do chart trading, same as with stocks.
