  1. VM = Virtual machine such as VMware, VirtualBox, etc.
  2. ok, a lot. Well, either can run on separate computers, or in VM?
  3. Brync, MT does not have ALLOWDUP. for the most part there really isn't a reason to run multiple instances of MT. You can have many portfolios and charts open at the same time, and you are not restricted to trading one account at a time, so you can do everything from one instance. If you have a problem doing something within one instance of MT, please let me know.
  4. Tedd, The color sets for the portfolio are drastically more complicated than the charts, which is why we did not make them editable, though if you feel like messing with it, I can give you an unencrypted copy of the file that you can then add your color set to. The font size changes by 0.5 in MT. I really have not seen anywhere else that changes by less than that. It is pretty standard.
  5. The reason you can't figure it out is because the paintbars have not been released yet. The Pb management button on the dashboard got in there by accident. It is gone in the beta release, unless explicitly enabled for the specific account If you want to help test it, email us at support@medvedtrader.com The syntax is different than QT. Our new Paintbars use C# syntax. Though the rules you indicated don't even need to get to that. Will be able to do that with just the "Simple" mode
  6. that is correct. MT can only operate on what it gets from the feed.
  7. I will check again but when I did before, never actually saw the value sent. Not via the API
  8. Yes, and supposedly they return Avg Volume, and though MT will record it if sent, we don't actually see it sent
  9. on chart, MT is calculating the ticks per bar. The portfolio column on the other hand just shows whatever the datafeed returns for that value and not all datafeeds return that data.
  10. also, can you email me the settings export so I can recreate some of the stuff.
  11. thanks for the feedback. I will try to knock off some of the issues. Others will need to wait till later this week or next.
  12. the stuff in the release is not complete. (button was enabled by accident). To use right now, you need to get another update and have the account enabled for PB. I just enabled yours and emailed you
  13. So, who wants to test Paintbars? NOTE: right now just core chart paintbars, NOT alerts. Alerts are still being worked on
  14. Rotor, Backup files would not be impacted by a crash. only think I can think of is either you turned backup off previously, or changed where the backups are saved. Or, if you restarted many times, old backups are auto removed (if you have more 10 or more for example with yesterday's data). Sorry
  15. MT makes a backup whenever it starts (by default). Start MT. Select FILE / Import/Restore. Open the backup folder Select the last backup prior to the crash. As for the floating logo - that is in the dashboard SETTINGS menu.
  16. We are happy to announce that Medved Trader premium access is now free for all clients with funded TradeKing accounts. If you do not have an account, opening one is easy. Please refer to https://www.medvedtrader.com/TradeKing If you already have an account, then all you need to do is: Start Medved Trader Login to Medved Trader if needed with your existing Medved Trader account. Use your TradeKing account for either quotes or trading. (In the case of MB Trading clients, it has to be trading specifically). Wait a minute, then restart Medved Trader. When it restarts, all free account restrictions should be removed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us here or via email

    Notes.

You can enter notes on the portfolio editor. on the dashboard, click on Edit Portfolios. Can also get there from the Portfolio window by clicking either on the "Edit portfolios" button on the QAT, or on the little thingie in the lower right corner of the Portfolio section of the MAIN tab on the ribbon.
  18. Futures and Forex are not supported by the TD Ameritrade datafeed at this time. (TOS uses a different source).
  19. have noticed some issues with them recently. For the time being, doing a Force re-login will work. Will see about the server switch. The point where the servers are known is very far from the point where the UI deals with them, so not trivial.
  20. why don't you just close all QT windows except one portfolio and the alert screen, and close or minimize all MT except the Alert editor and just keep those 2 next to each other. Full Screen - maximize one of the portfolios. Your issue is that you want to mimic QT but you turned off the "bring all windows to the front" option. Can't do that if you want the same results. Permanently attach dash - Actually, you can minimize the MT dashboard, then just use the Dashboard dropdown that is available on every MT window. Just hit F12 or click on that colorful icon on top right of the window, just below the min/max/restore buttons The MT main dashboard has some capabilities not available in the dropdown - the ability to view SOURCES (active sources) or Windows. But as far as the dashboard itself, that is the same
  21. Hi, #1 - you are referring to char color schemes - you can create whatever ones you like in MT on SETTINGS / CHARTS / COLOR SETS. You can either start from scratch, or copy of the the existing ones. MT has a "Sunny" chart color set built in, so you can start on that to make one to your liking. Office Blue/Black/Silver are built in Visual Styles for the ribbon forms from Microsoft, Office 2010 products. Not something we came up with on our own. As for the caption window, that will differ depending on the version of Windows you use. On Win 10, it won't be Aero. #2 - cannot import anything other than portfolios from QT since MT does things significantly differently internally. Why copy to paper? just open QT and MT at the same time.
  22. We do not have the internal server switching available in MT. There is Force Re-Login available on the dashboard. Click on SOURCES display, then you can right click on the listing for AMTD and select Force Relogin. That usually does switch the internal server as well.
  23. Hi, 1) what do you mean by opening one using Yahoo Finance? (Yahoo is not supported for Level II) 2) you can see all the MT windows you have open and also bring them to front or close them from the dashboard. Click on the WINDOWS tab on top right of the main dashboard window. Is there a Level II window there?
  24. Update - this issue has been resolved. Only noticeable if running with large # of charts. Will have new beta shortly
  25. I have a few reports of MT running unusually slow and saw it myself in a couple configurations. We made one fix and want to see if that addresses issues seen by others. Let me know if you have the issue.
